Scooter's indictment

Where's the charge against Karl Rove?
Where's the charge against Joe Wilson?
If Scooter Libby is guilty, let him rot.
But didn't the press push hard to get the prosecutor to slander Cheney and Rove?????

No Miers

Harriet Miers' nomination is history.
Jay has a good roundup.
E.M. has a very good take on it that does not bode well for the conservative movement, though.

Oh, Mr. Wilson...

Everybody's a-dither about whatever the CIA leak case prosecutor is going to do.
I have some questions.
They pertain to the ubiquitous Joe Wilson.
Didn't Mr. Wilson lie to the Senate committee investigating WMD?
Isn't there some sort of statute that forbids lying to Congress?
Shouldn't somebody be going after Mr. Wilson big time right about now?
Wouldn't the left get itself all a-dither about that?
And wouldn't the left let Mr. Wilson twist slowly, slowly in the wind if by some miraculous chance he should face charges of lying to Congress?
Answers, anyone?

Rosa Parks, R.I.P.

In five minutes, Rosa Parks did more to advance the cause of civil rights in this country than Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan and Al Sharpton have done in 40 years combined.
R.I.P. Rosa.

The Martin-Layton meeting

Canada's prime minister, Paul Martin Jr., met today with the leader of Canada's far-far-left national Socialist party, Jack Layton of the NDP.
We have the inside dope on what actually happened.

PM: Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more. Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more.
JL: What you say?
PM: Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more. Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more.
JL: Woah Paulie, oh Paulie, don't treat me so mean,You're the meanest PM that I've ever seen. I guess if you say so I'd have to pack my things and go.
PM: That's right. Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more. Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more.
JL: What you say?
PM: Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more. Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more.
JL: Now baby, listen Paulie, don't ya treat me this way. Cause you'll be back on your knees some day.
PM: Don't care a lick 'cause it's understood you ain't got no power and you just ain't no good.
JL: Well, I guess if you say so I'd have to pack my things and go.
JL: Well...
PM: Don't you come back no more.
JL: Uh, what you say?
PM: Don't you come back no more.
JL: I didn't understand you
PM: Don't you come back no more.
JL: You can't mean that
PM: Don't you come back no more.
JL: Oh, now baby, please.
PM: Don't you come back no more.
JL: What you tryin' to do to me?
PM: Don't you come back no more.
JL: Oh, don't treat me like that
PM: Don't you come back no more.

Song week, part 2

Continuing our Song Week festivities is the latest offering from the star of the O'Franken Factor, radio talk show host and former "funnyman" (?) Al Franken...

O'Franken

I remember all my lies, raining down as cold as ice.
Ripping off the kids, to cover the payroll;
Lyin' in the night, the night goes into
morning back up on the air. Nobody‘s listenin‘ out there.
Looking in their eyes, I see all zombies.
I never realized how stupid I could be.

I’m O’Franken, well, I came and I took without giving, and I won‘t go away.
O’Franken, well, you diss me and make me start shaking, and I’ll send you away.
O‘Franken!

I'm standing on the edge of time; I walked away when fame was mine.
Caught up in a world of uphill climbing,
the tears are on my mind and nothin' is rhyming.

I’m O’Franken, well, I came and I took without giving, and I won‘t go away.
O’Franken, well, you diss me and make me start shaking, and I’ll send you away.
O‘Franken!

Yesterday's a dream, I face the morning
cryin' on the breeze, my pain is callin'

I’m O’Franken, well, I came and I took without giving, and I won‘t go away.
O’Franken, well, you diss me and make me start shaking, and I’ll send you away.
O‘Franken!

I’m O’Franken, well, I came and I took without giving, and I won‘t go away.
O’Franken, well, you diss me and make me start shaking, and I’ll send you away.
O‘Franken!
And I need me!

Thanks, folks

To all of my regulars and semi-regulars who have enjoyed this effort and voted for me over at Kate's, thank you.
To the winners, a Hee-Haw Sa-Lute! to you. To all nominees (with the obvious exceptions), well done!

Song week

This week, we'll take a look at Songs of the Famous, ditties dug up by our cracked research staff.
Our first is dedicated to the likely Democratic Presidential nominee in 2008, Sen. Hillary WroughtIron Clinton:
Hillary
There's a girl I know who wants to be queen of the world.
And she'll stop at almost nothing till her banner's unfurled.
They call her Hillary.
I can't stand Hillary.
She's the same old girl who used to hang around Slick Bill.
Now, she says she's different, but I won't swallow that pill.
They call her Hillary.
I can't stand Hillary.
I loathe her, Hillary.
Take a hike, Hillary.
Inspired by "Valleri", written by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart and recorded by the Monkees

Weekend scoreboard update

Penn State 63, Illinois 10. Great joy in the household.
Flyers 5, Maple Leafs 2. Great game. Even better is that the Flyers got out of T.O. without Dirty Darcy cheap-shotting anybody. Credit where it's due -- Lindros is playing good hockey. Blame where it's due -- the Leafs' D basically still is lame.
The World Series. Who cares?
